Man Arrested In Teller County For Threatening Hospital Employees In Avon
Divide, CO, January 17, 2018– On January 10, 2018, deputies from the Teller County Sheriff’s Office were notified of a person wanted for felony stalking out of Avon, Colorado. The Avon Police Department had issued a warrant for the arrest of Jeffrey Lawn, a 37 year-old former employee of Centura Health Hospital in Avon after he allegedly threatened a former co-worker and made statements suggesting retaliation against hospital employees. Information developed by investigators indicated that Lawn was in an area near Cripple Creek in southern Teller County.
Teller County Sheriff’s deputies located Lawn and took him into custody without incident at a “Wilderness Survival Boot Camp” near Cripple Creek. Lawn had an AK47 assault rifle, a .308 caliber rifle, a Glock handgun, and thousands of rounds of rifle and pistol ammunition with him. In spite of the fact that Lawn surrendered to Law Enforcement, his arrest may have prevented other crimes. Lawn has posted a $10,000.00 bond and Avon police are investigating the threats.
