High Chateau Fire Update

At this time 661 acres have been burned and there is 0% containment. There are no new evacuations as of last night. Air drops occurred last night to start a fire line. For those that have been evacuated we are asking you to prepare for 24-48 hours, at least. Law enforcement officials are stationed at each subdivision entrance. Some subdivisions have power shut off to their residences, IREA is on scene. Road closures remain the same as before.

There is a place to request medications and prescriptions at the shelter in Cripple Creek at the high school through Red Cross. Pets (dogs and cats) are allowed but must be crated.

A temporary triage tent has been set up through Public Health at Evergreen Station. 4-5 structures have been lost at this time and we are unable to determine what structures they are at this time. We will be notifying home owners. We are unable to determine the way the fire is moving right now, because of the wind change.

If you are in the area of the fire, please, PREPARE NOW, DO NOT WAIT! Make sure your vehicles are fueled up and ready

to go. There are no confirmations of injuries or deaths at this time.

A BIG THANKS TO OUR FIREFIGHTERS! Many homes were saved last night.

Donations are being accepted at the Teller County Sheriff's Office. There is a request for chapstick, sunblock and throat lozenges. Please bring these items to the Sheriff's Office and do not take them to Four Mile Fire.

For more information please visit our website at tellercountysheriff.com or go to our facebook page, Teller County Sheriff's office. Nixle will only have pre-evacuations and evacuation notices.

BRIEFING at 1:00pm at Evergreen Station and Media immediately following at the little park across the street from Evergreen Station. We appreciate your patience at this time, thank you!
