ANONYMOUS TIP LEADS TO ILLEGAL MARIJUANA GROW

On Saturday November 10th, 2018 an anonymous tip led deputies to an illegal marijuana grow at an address in Florissant, CO. Patrol deputies conducted an investigation at 287 Drees Drive located in the Valley High subdivision.

During contact with the homeowner, deputies observed marijuana plants well in excess of the legal limit. A search warrant was obtained and deputies recovered 61 plants and approximately three ounces of processed marijuana from the residence and a crawlspace beneath the home.

Deputies took Brandon Strausser DOB 9/27/87 into custody. Strausser was booked into the Teller County Jail on an Offenses relating to Marijuana charge, a drug felony three. His bond was set at $2,000.00.

The Teller County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind everyone that although Colorado has decriminalized recreational marijuana, the law limits how much marijuana you can legally grow inside your home. Please educate yourself before you grow by making sure you are in compliance.
