A Message to All Organizations That Have Large Gatherings in Teller County from Public Health
March 16, 2020
Dear Community Partners,
To best protect public health, the Colorado Department of Health & Environment is recommending that Coloradans follow the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance released today. The guidance states that the CDC “recommends that for the next eight weeks, organizers (whether groups or individuals) cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 50 or more throughout the United States.”
Certain people are a higher risk with COVID-19 including:
• People over 60 years of age
• People with chronic health conditions
Older people with health chronic health conditions are at the highest risk for complications of COVID-19.
We ask you to consider these recommendations to help slow the spread of infection and keep our community and those that visit it safe.
Yours in Health,
Teller County Public Health & Environment
