Public Advisory-From TCSO
TELLER COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE
PUBLIC ADVISORY
In an effort to reduce face to face interactions due to the increasing
spread of COVID-19 in the state, we are conducting our business a little
bit differently, for now.
CALLS FOR SERVICE: Our Communication Center will still receive all
requests for calls for service through our normal phone line
719-687-9652, and emergency calls to 9-1-1. Our Communication
Center Call Takers will assess each situation as it comes in. If it is a
crime that is in progress and is a risk to persons or property, a deputy
will be dispatched. If it is any other incident that is not active and not
posing an immediate threat, a deputy will reach the caller by phone.
BURN PERMITS: We are suspending the issuance of burn permits
until after March 30th. We are working on an online payment system in
the meantime.
CONCEALED WEAPONS PERMITS: We are suspending the issuance
of all concealed carry permits until after March 30th. If there is an
emergency need (domestic violence victim or other protected party) we
will assess this on a case by case basis.
PUBLIC WINDOW: Our public window, temporarily located inside the
jail lobby, will be closed until after March 30th. Requests should flow
through our dispatch non-emergency line, 719-687-9652.
Our goal is to minimize public exposure, while still carrying out our
mission to protect the citizens of Teller County. We will continue to
monitor this rapidly evolving situation and provide updates as
necessary.
