We here at Teller County Public Health want you to know we are on top of this pandemic in every aspect including: preparation, information sharing, tracking, and collaboration with all stakeholders. We have at least one member of every public agency involved in the decision making and planning process every day, all day. Our goal is to communicate important information to the citizens of this county effectively, transparently, quickly, and often.

At this point, Teller County Public Health and Environment has not been notified of any positive cases of COVID-19 in Teller County.

Please remember, this is a constantly evolving situation. These recommendations are current as of the time of this communication, but could change throughout the day.

Current Recommendations/Orders: Governor Polis has issued an order closing all dining rooms in restaurants, casinos, and bars throughout Colorado. Some local restaurants are offering drive-thru, take-out, and/or curbside delivery as an alternative. Please call ahead to see if a restaurant is offering these options and to place your order before going to the restaurant.

The Teller County Board of Health has issued a Recommendation for Social Distancing. Maintain at least 6 feet between individuals; do not attend gatherings of more than 50 people. Limiting exposure to other people is a common sense way to help slow the spread of any virus in the community.

Actions Taken Today:

• Continued coordination with Joint Information Center (JIC) partners for public information.

• Collaboration with medical providers in the County

• Collaboration with key resource personnel

Tip of the Day:

Don’t panic buy. Prepare yourselves but don’t overstock your shelves. Remember that your neighbors need to eat, too. Grocery stores report that their supply chain is still operational and that their shelves will be restocked as normal.

Hand sanitizer is hard to find, but remember that 20 seconds of hand-washing with soap and water is effective.
